Breastfeeding is a common and natural way to feed your newborn. A prenatal class can offer education and suggestions to help get you off to a great start!
The goal of these classes is to help expectant parents learn the basics of breastfeeding so they are comfortable and informed during the postpartum period.
Topics include:
•what to pack in your birth bag for breastfeeding, •how to incorporate breastfeeding in to your birth plan,
•how to order your breast pump through insurance,
•what to expect in the first week,
•latch positions,
•basics of returning to work,
•maintaining milk supply,
•and basic newborn care.
Attendees will receive a breast milk storage magnet, class notes, and a folder of handouts and resources.
Partners are welcome. Limit one guest per pregnant parent. Maximum class size is 4 couples. Videos of breast and nipples will be shown. Snacks and water bottles will be provided. Please respect facility’s protocol on mask recommendations for guests.
